1D TOUR – MANGROVE PLANTING
One Day Tour – Mangrove Planting Bagek Kembar
About Bagek Kembar:
Situated in Empol Village, West Lombok Regency, Bagek Kembar Marine Village-Based Tourism stands as a crucial center for mangrove conservation. Acknowledged as one of the vital mangrove ecosystem areas in West Nusa Tenggara Province, this location has encountered degradation due to local activities such as converting mangrove forests into aquaculture ponds and firewood harvesting. Restoration efforts employing ecological mangrove restoration techniques aim to expedite and sustainably restore the ecosystem's condition.
Introduction:
Efforts to restore mangrove ecosystems include artificial restoration to return their characteristics and functions. Mangroves have the ability to self-heal through secondary succession over a period of 15-30 years, provided the tidal conditions remain unchanged and propagules or seedlings are available. However, this natural process takes a long time, making human-assisted restoration necessary to accelerate the process. One such intervention involves planting propagules (seedlings).
